Korero Kafe

Come join us every second Thursday from 10am - 12pm, drop in for a cuppa, have a korero. Meet a familiar face and smile. Nau mai Haere mai

We also have a discussion segment, that is open to who ever attends the kafe on the day. Sharing of views, opinions and information in general is and can be an empowering experience. Topic are choosen by those attending for next Kafe meet.

  • If you have tamariki/children attending with you, please be aware this is a kafe session so hot drinks are about and your tamariki's safety is your responsibility in kafe. Kia ora

Leadership Program

M.W.S.G was fortunate to provide an opportunity for these two lovely ladies on the program, which also gained certification in Food handlers and First Aid. Fantastic achievement by both and a very proud moment for all

.

Special thanks goes out to Jenny of Hobsons Bay and Deb of Playgroup Vic for delivering a brilliant program to our women. Enjoyed by all including previous M.W.S.G participants. Also a special thank you to the Catering course of Laverton Community Centre for providing all those yummy lunches.

Wahine workshop


Its getting closer to the end of Year and still it only feels like we've only just begun. Up coming workshops for the group and to determine wether these are relevant to our wide community these are, as follow for the year 2012

  • Rewana Bread Cooking is scheduled for a day in Feburary .     CLASS FULL .
  • Toroi making class is scheduled for a day in April.
    CLASS FULL
  • Hangi Day, for a day in June learn to put down a hangi from start to finish. This will span over a whole day so come prepared to do some digging and food handling.    CLASS FULL
  • Taaniko weaving class, for a day in August.  CLASS FULL


  • Poi making class for a day in October.
  • Mau Rakau introductory class for a day in December.

A Koha is asked of all those attending these classes and materials for some of the classes you will need to provide yourself. These will be outlined to you once Expression of Interest is recieved.
